We spent today on relaxing on the river, reading, stitching, napping and generally doing nothing. Meals are great and we've met a lot of interesting people. Tom has posted several pictures of views from last evening and today on the river.
Leaving the dock in Kiev
The view from the river is beautiful this time of night.
This is the statue of Freedom that stands over Kiev. With their independent status from the Russians the Ukraine is, for the first time in history, an independent country.
We leave Kiev behind us
Sundown on the river!
Tom tries on his life vest (sorry the image won't rotate).
I enjoyed working in the library.
This is the first of 4 locks we need to go through on our way to the Black Sea. Our boat is only 6 feet narrower that the locks!
Most of the day there is nothing around to look at. We did however pass a few small villages. Tomorrow we land at Zaporozhye.
