To Palermo

Today we spent in route to Palermo.  We got to the airport early and the guide took us to the gate.  The line at the check-in counter moved very slowly and people kept cutting in line (the worst of all were the Italians - but they are pushy, pushy, pushy).  Finally, after 1.5 hours, we got to the head of the line - somehow we had wound up last in line!  When we got there the attendant took one look at our flight and announced that we needed to be in the other terminal!  It turns out there were multiple flights leaving about the same time and the guide took us to the one that the Italians on our tour were taking - which was not the one we were on!

We took off running.  The guide saw us and tried to tell us to go back to the terminal.  Tom yelled at him a bit and he finally figured it out.  When we got to the counter they were just closing up.  After a few tense minutes with our guide talking to them they agreed to take our luggage and give us tickets.  Then a mad dash through security and last into the plane - but we made it!

So we are here in Palermo now and looking forward to a busy time tomorrow!
